Le Havre funicular

Le Havre funicular, better kwown as the « Funi » by the inhabitants of the region or the “Ficelle” (twine) by the elderly is a transit system in the city of Le Havre.

This funicular, managed by the CTPO (who oversees Le Havre conurbation community transports), links the upper city to the lower city through towed vehicles. The funicular line is 343 meters long and climbs 77 m. The journey takes about 3 minutes between the top station (Félix-Faure street) and the bottom station (Thiers square), separated by a tunnel.

The line is operated on a single track with a passing section enabling the vehicles to pass each other. The two stations are interconnected with the regular bus lines.
