« Capucin » funicular

In Mont-Dore, the Capucin funicular embodies all the “Belle Epoque” charm. It climbs up to the Salon du Capucin at 1245 meters for an easy access to hiking paths and a landscaped clearing. This small train, built in 1898 and classified as a “historic monument” in France, genuine cable railway, climbs up the side of the valley at a speed of 1 meter per second. It’s the oldest electric funicular in France.
